Why License

With DocuPet, your pet’s licence is much more than just a tag. It’s their ticket home, their customized (and cute!) emblem, and a link to their personal digital record. It’s also your way of doing good - not just for your pet, but for the pets in need in your community.

Dog licences are mandatory in the jurisdictions we serve in New Brunswick. In fact, licences are mandatory in nearly every community across North America. Why? Because licences help keep pets and the communities they live in safe.

Since licensing your dogs is a requirement, our goal is to make this process quick, simple, and valuable. Check out the ways you can license your pet below and feel good knowing that licensing revenue funds important initiatives helping to improve your community. To further support these efforts, DocuPet will always donate 20% of designer tag and product sales to our local Safe&Happy Fund partner in the jurisdictions we serve in New Brunswick, the New Brunswick SPCA.

How to License

The fastest and easiest way to license or renew is right here. You’ll create a profile for your pet, upload photos, process your licence registration, and receive purchase confirmations via email. Payment can be made using a credit card or Visa/Mastercard debit card and your package will be shipped out next business day. Each year, you just need to log in to your existing account and renew - it’s super easy!

If you opt to license via snail mail - keep in mind processing your registration will take a lot longer!

Make sure you complete the below form in full and that it is free of any errors otherwise your registration may not be successfully processed. The fine print is there for a reason so keep an eye out for accepted payment methods, who the cheque should be made out to, where it should be mailed, and any required supporting documentation.

Licence Fees & Details

Pet licences are required for all dogs living in the jurisdictions we serve in New Brunswick. Licences are available for one, two, and three year terms and must be renewed prior to the expiration date. You will receive reminders from us about upcoming licence expirations via mail, phone, and email.

  • A replacement tag is available for a $5.00 fee or at no additional charge when you license your pet.
  • Voluntary cat licences are available in jurisdictions served by the New Brunswick SPCA. Although not required, licensing your cat is a great way to help ensure their safety.
  • A fine up to $640 may be charged for failing to comply.

Pour compléter le processus de licence, vous devrez fournir des informations de base sur votre animal de compagnie et quelques informations critiques sur vous (nom, address, information de contact). Cependant après avoir acheté une licence pour votre animaux de compagnie, nous vous encourageons à ajouter de l’information supplémentaires à propos de votre chien ou chat à leur profil en ligne, tel que les photos!

Le choix est toujours le vôtre à propos de quelle informations de la médaille est partagé avec le public. Vous pouvez consulter et modifier vos paramètres de confidentialité par cliquer sur “Confidentialité” dans le menu de droit.

Non, DocuPet partage/vend aucun de vos informations avec une tierce partie.  

Avec les fonctions en ligne et par téléphone, on espère que vous n’aurez pas besoin d’avoir quelqu’un acheter une licence en votre nom.

FRAIS ET AMENDES

La médaille arrivera par poste quel que soit si vous commandez par téléphone, en ligne ou en personne. Veuillez prévoir 10-12 jours ouvrables pour recevoir vos nouvelles médailles. Pendant que vous attendez, vous pouvez utiliser le reçu comme preuve de licence.

Félicitation! Si vous avez déjà une licence ou avez acheté dans le passé, vous pouvez ajouter un nouvel animal à votre compte existant.

l’Information sur votre animal peuvent être modifiée n’importe quand par votre profil en ligne. Si vous n’avez pas accès à un ordinateur vous pouvez modifier l’information par appeler 1-855-249-1370 entre 9h et 17h heures normales de l’Est, ou par visiter aucun de nos vendeurs participants.
