Ever licensed with the Province of New Brunswick before?

If so, you’re in the wrong spot! If you have previously licensed a pet with the Province of New Brunswick, you do not need to create a new account as we will already have you in our system.

Keep your pet safe

Once you receive your pet's tag in the mail in approximately two weeks time, make sure you attach it to their collar. It’s also important to ensure your pet's profile is complete and up to date and that you’re familiar with DocuPet’s Lost Pet Service in the event that your pet ever goes missing.

Otherwise you can visit one of the following vendor locations to pick up a form and license in person:

  • New Brunswick SPCA
    PO Box 1412 Station A
    Fredericton NB E3B 5E3

step

2

Complete the registration form

First time licences require you to provide basic details about your pet as well as your contact information. This not only allows us to ship you your pet's tag, it’s also used to reunite you with your pet if they are ever lost.

You will be required to pay a fee for each of your pets' licences. Please see the fee schedule below.

Dog
One Year Licence $15.00
Two Year Licence $25.00
Three Year Licence $35.00
Cat
Voluntary Cat Licence $15.00

We only accept cheques, Visa and MasterCard by mail. If you are visiting one of our vendor locations you may pay by cash, cheque, debit or credit card. Please make all cheques payable to the New Brunswick SPCA.

Mail your form to:

PO Box 1412 Station A
Fredericton NB E3B 5E3

OR drop it off at one of the vendor locations listed above.

After your registration and payment has been received and processed our records will be updated to reflect an active licence status and your tags will be shipped within one business day from being entered in our system.

It is important to note that mailed and in-person applications are not always entered into our system immediately and this will often delay the shipment of your pet's tag. If you would like to ensure your pet's licence application is processed right away please license online, or by phone.

You will be sent an email with a receipt and link to activate your online account where you can upload more information about your pet. If you do not have an email, your activation code will be mailed to you along with your pet's tag. Please note that you will need a valid email to setup your online DocuPet profile.
