Renew Your Pet Licence

All dogs living in rural New Brunswick must be licensed. For your convenience, the region offers a couple of options for renewing your pet's licence:

step

1

Get Started

If you have previously licensed a pet with the Province of New Brunswick, you already have an account with DocuPet.

If you have activated your account and logged in online, you will need your account credentials to complete your renewal. If you have forgotten your password you can reset it.

If you have not activated your account, you will need your activation code. You can do so by following the link provided in any emails we have sent you. You can also find this code on any mailed correspondence sent to you by DocuPet or call into our customer service team at 1-855-249-1370 to have a representative provide it. Our customer service hours are 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday.

If you can provide your pet's tag number and name, as well as your postal code and phone number, our online system can activate your account without an activation code.

You Currently Have at Least One Pet with an Active Licence

Once you have successfully logged into your online account if you currently have a pet with an active licence, you will be taken to your profile page. On the right hand side click the red renewal button to start the renewal process. Note that the renewal button will not be displayed unless one or more licences are close to expiring.

You will then be taken to the License Your Pets page. Here you can edit your pet's details to qualify for a different licence type (ex. your pet has been microchipped), add a new pet, update us on your pet's status (ex. no longer with you), and select a tag type.

Important to Note

If this is your first year renewing since your Province partnered with DocuPet, you will get a new tag in the mail. If you have licensed with us before, you may choose to keep the DocuPet tag you have, or you may choose to receive a new one with your renewal. It does not cost extra to get a new tag if requested during the renewal process.

Please note if for any reason you no longer have your pet, you can update your renewal status to let us know. You can also email or call our customer service team and they will update your record.

Payment Options

You will be required to pay a fee for each of your pets' licences. Please see the fee schedule below.

Two Year Licence $25.00
Three Year Licence $35.00
